On Saturday, November 5, 2011, seven orchestra member from Madison participated in Strictly Strings. Over 200 seventh and eighth graders from North Platte, Kearney, Grand Island, Hastings and Custer County joined together to play under the baton of Dr. David Littrell. Dr. Littrell is a University Distinguished Professor of Music at Kansas State University where he conducts the University Orchestra and teaches cello.
Representing Madison were: Violinists Tabetha Sprunk, Gracey Adkisson, Hannah Barnhill, Lebraya Green; Bassists Sidney Fries, Dustin Wonch and Jakob Ochsner.
They performed in a 3 p.m. concert at Walnut Middle School in Grand Island. Strictly Strings is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2011.
